This is what I was thinking. I moved to SD 4 years ago due to my job relocating. I was then driving a 1988 toyota corolla with 250k miles. I owned it since high school and put on 150k of those miles. It was easy where I moved from to work on the car because my father had a multitude of tools for me to use. Ended up here and having to buy everything to work on the vehicle which added to the cost. Then I got my wheels jacked in Vegas and the next week bought the Tacoma to have all those issues solved but had a 700 a month payment. Stark reality from going to no payment and 150 a year insurance to that.

I was young and thought I needed a nice car to impress people. Well I don't care too much anymore.

And I see what your saying I just put in 200 for the 60k maintenance.

Now I am thinking about going back to a clunker haha!

Your gonna need 4WD in Seattle in the winter time. Keep the truck.

I just bought a 15 dcsb trd offroad prerunner. I was out the door at 31,714. I don't see how you'll make that much on the truck with over 60k. Just keep it.

As someone else mentioned, how long's the zero percent rate good for?

I'd pay down the truck first unless the "teaser" rate kicked into high gear.

maybe I should just keep the truck and ban myself from TW

More than one member has found it a good idea to do that. TW is a good community. But to the extent that it makes you dissatisfied with what you already have and encourages lavish expenditures on truck parts that we really don't need, it's a bad habit.

Need? It is nice but fwd and a set of all seasons gets you thru 99% of a Seattle winter.

Seattle's nice. When the suns out its hard to beat, tho admittedly it just cant touch a city with a beach thats 70 degrees every day of the year. Can't stand Seattle city politics tho but the suburbs around it aren't too bad. Try it out, if it doesn't work you can chase the sun and head back to SD.

I think someone has been reading Dave Ramsey.

Brother... math is a simple thing (unless we're talking about trig or calc). Examples: If you're earning 3.5% on a fixed 401k, but paying 5% on a truck loan... divert the 401k money to the truck loan until it's paid for. Then put the 401k money back, plus the truck loan money, to catch up.

I stand and applaud you for being financially responsible, sir... but lets not nuke it. Do the math.
