I've switched from timberlands to ariats a few times. Bought a pair of wolverines 4 years ago and I'm still wearing them. Will buy another pair when these start to leak water inside.

I wear response gear from big5. They have laces with a zip up side for quickness. They are high top. Non making, oil resistant and are waterproof. They worked great in the snow. Black.
25$ when on sale. I have used a lot of different shoes and boots.:)

Red Wing Boots all the way. Hands down the best quality I've ever come across. They're expensive, but you get what you pay for. Plus they're made in the states.

These in particular are the most comfortable I've ever owned. Not even a break in period. I can wear these all day with no foot fatigue. Water proof and composite toe.

Extremely comfy. After 8 hours of standing and lifting on concrete, its never my feet that hurt.

I have tried a variety of boots during my career and have never had any brand last longer than 9 months, so I buy Carolinas with the wedge sole. Very comfortable and work for me.

These rubbed my calves at the top of the boot when I first got them. I bought some over the calf socks to help.
Now they are broken in and wear great. Feet and back are good after all day in them.
    Steel toe.

My last pair of Red Wings lasted 6 years. I only replaced them because there wasn't any tread left on the bottoms. That was 6 years of working in the heavy construction field including mud and wet concrete, and concrete is hard on boot leather.

I still use those old boots around the house.

Personally I think Red Wings pale in comparison to Whites. My current pair of Whites Smokejumpers have lasted 3 seasons of firefighting with one rebuild. $460...But you get what you pay for.

I agree you get what you pay for. I'm not running around in burning environments though.

I wear Rockies outside of work or on days I don't go inside the plant. Only boot I've ever cut into the steel toe with a grinder and not had leak.

At work I wear Steel toe rubber boots. Things get way too messy for leather.

Just look at the build thread
My work buys me two pairs of Redwings a year. I'm sure there's better boots out there but I'm not willing to pay for them myself. I've never had a problem with Red Wings though.

When I'm stuck at the desk, I just got a pair of these Merrell Realm chukkas ... They are pretty comfy and a little more "mature" than the Merrell sneakers I usually wear to the office. Christmas present from my GF...

    FAFABC0E-6317-4AD8-8013-88539669F9FA_zps_7821c9c3fb645380d38c1507a0d9897303d89a02.jpg

Now when I'm out in the woods, fighting fire or Rx burning, I have been wearing a pair of Scarpa Fuego boots the past two seasons. I really like these boots a lot! In the world of wildland fire boots, most folks swear by the logger style boot... Whites, Drews, Nicks, etc. Our crew boss recommended these mountaineering style Scarpas after my soles delaminated on a pair of Redwings while on a detail in Idaho. The Scarpas broke in much faster than anything else I've had. Nice and comfy and light... And they have held up pretty well too!

The delaminated Redwings are now reserved to timber marking after I shoe goo'ed the soles back on. They were great boots while they lasted... Just probably not the best choice as a fire boot!
