Best Radar Detector

I have a Valentine One that is about 3 years old that I would sell if interested.... by for the best radar Iv owned, I just no longer use it.

 

With the new style mirror with back up camera, I can't get my Blendmount for the Scangauge to fit with the valentine one

Very low profile, good internals, remote screen, escort live app support, and comparatively cheap. Its saved me way more than it cost. They don't make them anymore but they can still be found on eBay and elsewhere (iPhone and Android versions).

But the blendmount RD bracket still works, right?

 

Yes. You have to remove the plastic housing that hides the wire going to the mirror and mount it directly to the mirror post.

 

How do you have yours wired in? I just saw this post and I have to get me one of those mounts now. Just don't want the bungee cords plugin hanging down. I know I have the hard line wires in the kit but not sure where to wire it in at.

 

Up under the headliner under the sunglass' holder are some powered wires for things like the Rear view camera mirror, compass, and temp. Just splice into one of those. That's what I did. Or run the power cord all the way to the fuse box. I may do that because the power up top is not switched. It's always hot so you need to turn the detector off/on every time.

 

That's a good thing to know. Lots of room in the windshield post for wires.

 

I ran mine under the headliner, down the column and into the fuse box. Its invisible. Also, without having to buy the blendmount, you can install the detector up higher using the oem mount without suction cups. Just buy some of that 3m hook and loop shit from walmart. Ill post a pic of mine shortly.

 

The Blendmount works but there is not enough real estate on the shafts to get them both to fit. I have messed with it many times to get a configuration to work with changing out the supplied spacers but no luck, Scangauge is velcro on my top of my steering column.

 

Does the "dot matrix" interfere with the radar detection?

 

No. The antenna is just below it.
