I am guessin none of you have ever been to the wild n wonderful state of West Virginia. Where seeing people hold doors for people and talk to strangers is so common you never think twice about it. You can't buy a coke here without the person working the register starting a conversation and at least ask how your day is going. Everyone that hates there state is truly missin out.

God I would love that, when I buy a pop the clerk can't speak english, so no conversation is gonna happen. I just hope I don't support the Taliban when I buy my pop.

this is what bugs the shit outa me. just about everywhere I go, i get spanish speaking people who are so hard to understand, 90% of the time my order gets jacked up in the drive thru. It REALLY pisses me off whenI can understand them, and they give me attitude because i dont speak their language.

i would love to move to AZ, a bunch of my friends have gone out there - unfortunatley, I got the prime job where i'm at

You should come over to San Ramon for a while, we're around 60K people but I like it here.

As for friendliness of people at registers and whatnot, it's pretty friendly here. I mean you get aske how you're doing or how's your day by almost every register person.

Move to Branson Mo. I think almost every person I met in Branson while visiting there was from california. People are moving out of cali in droves to that area for some reason and running the home values up to the point they arent affordable no more.

They're moving EVERYWHERE. Its not just Californians, but New Yorkers, New Jerzians, and the rest of the Northeast. They're all moving for the same reasons, and thats because where they live sucks. Taxes, high cost of homes, etc etc.

I think we have a major problem in this country and that is that major metros are unable to manage large numbers of families nor accommodate the middle class. So for now, these minor metros will likely thrive. But there's a caveat to this. I was recently in Raleigh, NC. The place is exploding.tons and tons and tons of new houses. Most of them being bought by Northerners. Most who think those 400k homes are cheap. At the same time it displaces the locals. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I hate Cali with a passion for lots of reasons and I was born there. You could not offer me enough money to ever move back there.

I've been in Cali since '64 (born here) & in the bay area since '71. I really like it here, but sometimes I tell ya, I'd like to just pack it all up & get the hell out of dodge! Traffic, smog, rude people on the roads. Just too many people in general. You have to wait in lines everywhere you go. Yea, things are not cheap, but we get better pay out here though.
Maybe some day, it be nice to go to Nevada, south of Reno area possibly....

Orygun is the place if you can stand the tree hugging, drum banging hippies...:D

It's pretty nice here... Fishing, hunting, year round skiing/boarding, wheelin land everywhere and pretty loose gun laws (compared to the republic of california dictated by the govenator).

I think Cali is a great place... if you got here a long time ago. Back then it was cheaper and you got to live somewhere with lots of sunshine. Trust me- I lived in Boston for 2 years, and you want to talk about shitty weather... good god you couldn't pay me to live there, much less the rest of the northeast. The weather here is fantastic. 65 degrees most of the year, no rain from March-late Oct.

But like I said- if you got here in the 60,s, 70's and bought a house back then, things are probably great for you. If you're younger like me, it sucks- mainly because of the expense.
