none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
So I guess the WHO has decided to declare that we're officially having a pandemic due to swine flu. Personally, I find this call a bit uncalled for and unnecessary. I think anyone with half a brain realizes that the average Joe is going to hear those words and panic to some degree.

Perhaps if this was an actual serious issue, then yes- maybe. But the fact is that the typical, boring, classic flu that we have had forever kills hundreds of thousands of people per year. The swine flu? 140. Yes- one hundred and forty. Total. Its been reported that the overwhelming majority of people who get it have mild symptoms with no treatment actually needed. All of those who have died in the US had pre-existing health issues that complicated their illness.

Thus in my humble opinion, the reaction to this thing is a tad overblown. But... I suppose the "good" news of all this is that for the past 200 years, the world gets a global pandemic every 35-40 years. Its like clockwork for some reason. But if this is out generation's pandemic, I'll take it.

I have to agree that the reaction to the entire thing is overblown but the reason why it was raised to a pandemic status was because it met certain criteria. It isn't widespread in the US but it is in other parts of the world. Unfortunately, the semantics will cause more problems than the flu itself.

I'm gonna add my .02 here.... Maybe they did overreact, but how many people did they prevent from getting sick when they closed the schools and told people they need to wash their hands, etc....

I wonder how bad this thing would have been if they'd treated it as any other flu/cold type of virus.... with no restrictions on anything.

The part that I find funny are the people that are stocking up on anti-bacterial lotions. That's going to do you a whole lot of good against a virus.
