    Actually, Nordstrums will take anything back for whatever reason. I had a business communications professor who shopped there exclusively. She said they've even been known to take back things from other stores. She told a story of one woman who brought back a tire to get her money back (It's a high-end department store. They don't sell anything automotive). They're expensive but they make up for it in customer service.
