I tell you the thing that sucks about deciding NOT to have kids is that since 99% of all couples do have them, you realize that about 99% of what's out there is for families with kids. All the "family friendly" BS. That and knowing that people with kids only hang out with other people with kids. All my friends who have them want nothing to do with us. That and their lives go from having hobbies and extracurricular things to nothing but the kids: where to buy the best house in the safest neighborhood, with the best schools, so they can later save to get them into the best college, drive the safest, biggest SUV... and on and on.

    Anyhow, enough of my bitchin'

It's oddly true, but also true of married people. I don't understand why when friends get married they suddenly can't ever hang out. They only want to hang out with other married people. It's such bullshit.

Though I'm married I've managed to keep retain my soul and have gotten remarks from friends (both married and unmarried) like "your the only guy I know who is still cool after getting married".

Yeah, but you don't have to instantly ditch all your friends and find a new set. Though you may have less time to hang out, you don't have to change who you hang out with.

It's nature. You take care of your own. It works both ways too....the grass is always greener....sort of. I love my children, but sometimes I envy the friends that don't have any. They get to do what they want.

Kids take alot of time and energy and after that, there isn't much(energy) left for anything else.

Ya, I guess so. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my life without kids. I can't imagine with them. Altough I don't want kids, I admit sometimes I think how cool it would be to have them. Then I think about what pains in the asses my and my brother were( teenagers) until we grew up. Now that we get along great with my folks, we both live in Cali 3,000 miles away.

...Just think if your chicks didn't have a monthly visitor and no PMS then wouldn't they be pretty sane??

I know how you feel, like I mentioned 8 of my friends are having babies and I know it is going to change our friendships some or a lot.
And with married couples, well most of us in our group are couples so that makes things easier for us.
As long as they still play in the sand dunes with us then all is good.

Compared to being preggers I'm starting to miss regular PMS. Least that shit doesn't last for 9 months straight.
