remove dents, plastic bumpers?

My wife inherited a 2002 Corolla from her Dad. We've had it a year or so. Her Dad had run into something and put a golf ball sized dent in the bumper. Its not bad, but it kind of annoys me. I was thinking that surely you could remove the bumper, get out a hair dryer and heat the plastic up a bit and push the dent out. Just checking if anyone else has tried this little trick with success.

 

Just get a 3 inch lift and throw a tube bumper on it...Some sliders and skids maybe??

Oh wait...That fixes the trucks...not so much for a corolla.

I did it to my high school car- Didn't look perfect- but it was better than the dent full depth.

 

I took a softball sized dent out of my Taco by getting underneath it with a hammer, and using the handle, I pushed it out. (No room to swing and use the mallet head)


Looks 98% better now.
