Mower help!

So I have to buy a new mower for the new place. A rider. I am down to 2 mowers. A JD LA165, and a Craftsman PYT9000. I have had a JD self propelled walk behind for 8 years with the only problems being operator induced. I have loved it. The CM has a couple more hp, but the JD is well, a JD. I don't know who makes the CM mowers. I know it isn't CM. Also the JD has bigger wheels, lots of hills and ruts I have to deal with. The decks are both 12ga steel. The CM is quite a bit cheaper ($350ish). Fit and finish are significantly better on the JD. I am leaning a little towards the JD, but definitely not decided.

Anyone have an opinion?

Our past few mowers have been Craftsman never had a problem really. The old one kept having the wheel fall off but it wasn't very expensive to fix $30 or so. Just embarassing to have the mower sitting in the front yard and the wheel 20 yards in front of it. I say go with the Craftsman still.

 

Nothing runs like a Deere. Really.

 

And stay away from Cub Cadet, as they cut uneven on all the ones I've used.

 

The JD tractors at Lowes or Home Depot are not real JD tractors. The service guys at the dealers hate working on them.

If you're going with a John Deere, visit a dealership.
