Deep depression. Anyone else suffer from this? How do you cope with it? It makes me not feel like doing anything, binge drink like crazy, and hardly eat or sleep. I feel like I'm loosing it. Ugh

I think I'm suffering from a form of depression, but it doesn't seem too serious.

I'm sorry you are feeling very depressed. :(

I'm sorry for the depression, it can be very serious. We all get a bit of it at times. I seek God to help me. Right now it's early on a Sunday morning, call someone you know that goes to church and ask them if you can go along with them this morning to their service.

I know how you feel. DRINKING only helps while you are drunk. But the next morning all your problems are still there. Try and get a hobby to fill your time.

I suffer from depression also and I agree with wolfpack. Medication works, but the best thing to do is exercise, get sunlight, and eat healthy. Do things that keep you busy and make you happy. Work on your truck, pick up a hobby. Drinking doesn't really help, it'll only make things worse in the long run. Hope you start feeling better and if you don't, don't be afraid to ask for help.

I agree with all of you guys. You have to get out and do something. Go to the gym, go running, ride your bike. You live in Florida...is there a beach nearby? if so take some surfing lessons. Do something man. And goodluck.

Agree with wolfpack and others, had to see my Doc last week in regards to a infection I caught awhile back. We talked about depression and the warning signs. He was very upfront in say that if it happens let him know and he can help.
He gave me 5 ways to fight it, but can't remember them now, I do know that eating 3 standard meals a day, but don't over do it, plenty of rest, and exercise. For me it has been my walk with the Lord. But don't get me wrong, the thought has been there to hit the bottle or something else, but as stated above it is only a short term fix, and the issue still will be there.

I am fighting being depressed now, and every hour is different. When the light bulb goes off in my head about it, I make sure it gets taken care of.

yup I have been depressed and the only thing that is going to make it better is to get a job if you dont have one, do stuff with people, ex golfing fishing anything really, just dont sit around doing nothing. Eat healthy cause that will make you feel good about yourself and get exercise. Drugs and alcohol are only going to make it worse.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I used to have a pretty serious problem with it. My way of dealing with it was to realize that when I was like that, it made others also feel anxious or unhappy. So I tried to consider that. I also think about what I've got and how that in the end, I'm pretty lucky: have a woman I love, have a reasonably stable financial situation, a loving family, and so on. There's lot of other folks who aren't doing as well. So I have a lot to be happy about. But sometimes I get into a funk. That's when its time to go outside and do something constructive.

http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/ ...its a christian organization. They provide a free mentor to help you cope with whatever you're feeling or struggling with. Its a 60 day course that give you daily devotionals and lessons. They specialize in targeting specific areas like alcohol or drug addiction, porn addiction, and learning who the Lord is and what His plan is for you. They have many different courses you can enroll in and its all free! I am taking the porn addiction course currently, and through the grace and strength of God I am defeating it. I highly recomment this for you

Speaking from experience depression can become very crippling, now is the time to search out family and friends. Get back on a track of normalcy, you may think that whatever your troubles are are too much to bear. Go at these situations head on and don't let them fester. Generally depression is caused by a handfull of small issues that you have blown out of proportion. Get your feet planted and your head back into reality, you must move forward, you must realize there are many happy years times to come.

I suggest you let a family member or friend in on how you feel. They can help give you a sense of security and be there for you in the most trying times. Keep your chin up you are not alone, and seek help if it has become too overwhelming.

Guy's, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support, suggestions, and just everything. It means a lot to me. I do feel much better, and am in better spirits.

I find that going on long walks with my family and doggy helps me a lot. I've been doing fairly well, with occasional depression, but nothing crazy for almost 10 months now. I should mention that 10 months ago I adopted a puppy from the humane society, and I am 100% certain she has everything to do with my better moods.

I will be seeing a doc soon though, due to the fact that these moods, if they ever return to their full extremity, would be a very serious problem.

My entire family has a background of depression, I work in a place where I sometimes deal with depression and suicide, and I myself thought I hit rock bottom at the beginning of this year.

My personal faith in God helped a lot, and I held on to the truth that He will never put you in a situation that is too difficult to handle. Depending on what you believe, this can be very comforting. For some people, depression can come from a chemical imbalance in the brain, so you may seek a doctor about that.

After breaking off a five year relationship, things were very tough. Like others have said, drinking is a temporary solution, but not only does it lead you back to the start or worse, but you spend A LOT of money. Buy a bicycle and hit up some trails, get plugged in with a positive group of people, learn an instrument, or take up a hobby like others have said.

Myself and others are always here for support on TW! Never hesitate guys (and ladies)!

its called medication, not god. DONT FLAME ME GUYS. god doesnt help with a chemical imbalance.if god was always there, this world wouldnt be shape it is today. not trying to disrespect anyone and their beliefs.he needs a doctor not god.
