home sharing works great for me. have my library on my desktop and laptop and now when i buy music from itunes or import a cd i dont need a thumb drive to transfer the music. just turn both pc's on find the main library of the comp i want to transfer to, pick what ever you want and select transfer.

genuis works ok for me, i have a lot of underground not so pop chart hip hop and rock and genuis does little to catalog these songs so it may group songs that dont go together. it probraly works great for pop chart stuff.

I think I'll stay far far away from either of them. Anytime itunes has access to see your libraries & such.... worries me. Kinda like they can spy on you.

My husband and I already have a network setup at home. Our music is on one drive that we share. It's pretty easy if you (not itunes) organize the music manually. Atleast I know where everything is and how it got there.

I'm about to get a 16gb Nano or Zune HD. Probably going to go with the Nano since 1) BUTTONS, and 2) aftermarket support.

IMO flash memory is the way to go for me since it'll be in my truck a lot and whenever I'm running/cycling. Bouncing around with hard drives is NOT good.

I ended up getting a new 120gig from Amazon for $210. Not bad.
Considering the 160gigs were $250. The refurbished 120gigs were about $200.
I figured I'd spend $10 more and get a new 120gig. Now, I've got sooo much room!! I'm gonna work on getting the entire music collection (CD's) in it when I'm on 2nd shift.

I'd like to start either watching movies, tv shows, or something on this thing but just don't know where to start. Are there any good FREE stuff that's worth a watch? I'd like to down load some freeby games too - like sudoku. I suck at it, but I can actually get through them (I tend to lose interest in games that I get stuck at).

I have an old 4gig nano that I take to the gym. That thing has been around for a long time and was my very first ipod. Still kicking around....

    Same here....
My husband and I have our music collection (and itunes preferences)setup so that we have manual control over it. So, it's not bad.
Letting itunes control your music collection = bad idea. The program was too damn unstable.

I actually like itunes mainly for window shopping for music. I'll window shop around in the itunes store and find out what tunes I want.....listen to clips, find the popular stuff, document the artist/song name/album/etc, then go elsewhere to get it.

There are songs that were from my younger days....that I could not find anywhere but on itunes. So, it has its benefits.

    Bump for an oldie...

    Let's talk GAMES.

What types of games do you guys have (downloaded)onto your ipods?

I definately wanna get Sudoku - although I suck at it - it's a game I can play even if it takes me forever to finish it. Pacman & Tetric and some other simply minded games.

Not that I would play much, but it'd be nice to have these on long trips, or even at work while I'm on break or something.

I have a game that came on the Ipod....but...The 2" screen makes it a little difficult to play for a long time.
