    and yes mosts college lit. classes require more papers and reading. Might as well pick something you're either interested in or know more about because you'll be typing alot.

    well here is the deal.

    I am trying to use the last of my Military TA before the fiscal year resets.. and I wanna take a class but I dont want to jam in one of these Lit classes if im gonna have to write 3-5+ page papers every week..

    You may not have to write that many papers, but you will have to do a lot of reading (after all, it is a lit. course). The number of papers you have to write is purely up to the instructor. You might have a few small papers throughout the semester or a really big one at the end. My advice would be to take one that you're interested in so the content isn't boring to you. That'll motivate you to read the material and do well on the paper(s).

    my american lit was just 10-20 pages per class read, with a few little papers and some essay tests

    Try to get a hold of the syllabus for each class, and see how intensive the workload is going to be. Also, try to find out about the professor who is teaching the classes.

    oh dude! you are so fucked! i have taken most of those and they are AWFUL!!! normally you get to choose between the lesser of two evils, but in this situation they are all equally miserable. and this is coming from a dude who loves to read (believe it or not). American Lit stands out as being the worst but thats hard to say, they all made me want to die. not sure about your particular school but you need to be ready for alot of reading, some essay's and possibly some presentations.
