So i went back home to ark the other day. didnt even get near any poison ivy. i get thru workin on my mom's back bc it was hurtin her, & good thing i didnt work on her bare shoulders bc right when i got through i went to scratch my left pinky finger and there were little freakin clusters/welps on it. i stopped myself before i even went to try and scratch it. i knew it was poison ivy right then

i dont know how the HELL i got it! hell for all i know the wind couldve hit me wrong outside earlier. the only thing i did outside was help my friend pull her nav unit from her car with tools. i thought it couldve been from pettin on one of the dogs outside, but my mom said she didnt have any poison ivy anywhere out in the yard.

so i been puttin tea tree oil on it, which keeps it from itchin... rubbin alcohol, bc i hear it can dry it out pretty fast, but apparently its tryin to spread a little bit. its already spread towards my fingernail on my pinky & has crossed over to a spot on my ring finger, which i knew would happen anyways

i dont know of any other home remedies to keep it from spreadin or to help it dry out. i put some bandades over all the areas that have the clusters showin, & i know thats not what u are supposed to do, but it keeps me from gettin it elsewhere for the time bein

im thinkin about goin & gettin a steroid shot 2moro to get rid of it quicker. i know calamine lotion helps, but it dont work fast enough for me

    any ideas?

Tecnu- It smells a bit funny but it's a pretty good drying agent. I carried a bottle with me whenever I was camping.

I get it all the time. Poison Ivy runs it's course like a cold. This is THE BEST stuff I have ever used. Try it and see if you agree.

Try some Witch Hazel if you can find it in the pharmacy. Smells awful but gets rid of poison ivy pretty quick.

This might seem odd but i use my wifes facial mask which actually keeps the itching down and really dry's it out like in two days. Seems a bit off track but it has worked 100% of the time!

u know i didnt even think about that at all!! i do recall showin my brother where the nerfbars were pushed up and i was touchin some stuff underneath my truck..... dang... guess i shouldve gotten off my ass to have washed it sooner

ill keep all of these things in mind next time i go to the store. but in all seriousness, i think i better go to the hospital and get a shot otherwise it will spread alot worse. im so allergic to this crap it aint even funny.

i remember my mom said somethin about how bleach or purex will kill/dry it out too

This guy named brian. He is the cure!! He licks it with his tounge. Apply 3 times a day with a glass of milk. You will be cured in 4-6 days!!
I think Brian has the middle finger in the American flag under his name!!

I had poison oak once it was terrible, just keep it dry, put calamine, throw away any clothes or anything that may have came in to contact with it.. Running it under hot water stops the itching, whatever you do dont scratch it
