Sorry to hear about your misfortune w/ FedEx. I live in a apartment, FedEx and UPS delivers to my front door. I am usually home when they do the deliveries. Most times, I get deliveries with USPS, the front office is good about leaving a notice in our box notifying me about a package they have for me.

In your case, some one from the front office or FedEx could have notified you about your package. I am shock the office held on to your package for those couple of days and not notify you. You can put a blame on both. My $.02

I should have gotten my step bars from Avid Off-Road over a week ago. FedEx passed when I wasn't home and left a drop ticket on my door with instructions to sign the ticket and place it back on the door and the driver would leave the package the next day if no one was home again.

The next day there was no package but there was another drop ticket next to the signed one that I left on the door. So I signed that ticket and also left it on the door.

The next day there again was no package but there was another drop ticket next to the two signed ones that I left on the door. So I signed that ticket and also left it on the door.

I called FedEx and they said the package would be delivered later that next day. The next day came.....no package.

I called back and they said there was a mix-up because the bar code on the package was damaged. They “guaranteed” it would be delivered the next day. The next day came......no package.

I called back and was told this time that because three attempts were already made, I would have to go to the pickup station to get the package between the hours of 8am and 10am. That right! They’re open for pickups only two hours per day and this would have been a 2 hour drive one way in lovely Houston morning traffic.

I call Brandon at Avid and he made some calls to FedEx however; they gave him the same answer.

The next morning right before I left to go get the damn package, a FedEx manager called and said the package was on the truck and would be delivered that afternoon. That afternoon came......no package!

I call FedEx tree more times and after a whole lot of bitching, I was forwarded to the Customer Advocacy Team based in Atlanta. The rep was very polite and professional. He made several calls and said everything was straightened out and that I would get the package the next day.

The next morning, my wife received a call at home from a woman claiming to be the FedEx driver. She told my wife that quote “I ain’t paid enough to deliver that package again and it’s too heavy for me to carry by myself anyway

    REALLY!?!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was too heavy for her to lift, HOW THE HELL WAS SHE GOING TO DROP THE PACKAGE ON HER FIRST THREE ATTEMPTS!?

I call the FedEx Customer Advocacy Team rep back and told him what has happened. After a long pause, he took a deep breath and began apologizing. He again made several calls and said that he arranged for FedEx Express Overnight Service to pick the package up and said I would definitely get the package the next day.

The next day came.....NO F#$@?!! PACKAGE.

I call the FedEx Customer Advocacy Team rep back and before I even said anything, he began apologizing. He said the contract delivery service was closed when FedEx Express Overnight Service tried to pick the package up the previous afternoon.

He again made several calls and said said I would certainly get the package the next day.

Today is the next day. Anyone want to place bets?

I work as a shipper and in my experience while working here for over 4 years, I would MUCH rather ship via FedEx than UPS. Maybe it's because of our corporate discount but UPS is cheaper than FedEx price wise and it shows on the packages they deliver.

    FedEx boxes, descent shape

UPS boxes, beat to shit all the time.

They finally made it, with ripped up packaging, but delivered. Thankfully there made of steel and not coated yet.

FedEx and UPS delivery trucks have low ground clearance and low departure angle.

I've worked for one of those major companies in a major city. And I'll say this. We would get hundreds of packages per day. That's hundreds of stops. And usually wed also have business pick ups and express delivery that needed to done before 4pm. Add that up and it was usually a 12-14 hour day. Imagine the exhaustion of having to go door to door delivering every single package and normally waiting to find that said person wasnt even there, having to bring that same package back to the truck or to another location to drop it off. As a driver, if I knew that a particular location had a central drop off where I could drop all packages for the complex without having to go door to door saving me countless time and energy, better believe I'm doing it. At that point it's the complex doorman, mail clerk, superintendent, etc responsibility to notify the person that their item has been delivered along with my scanner sending a signal to the individuals email that the item has been delivered. Our only obligation at the time was to deliver to a secure location.

Remember, we all have families we want to go home to, some times its not laziness...
