Well, for me I have my own opinion on this holiday season, but I agree it is way to early to start putting all this stuff out or even seeing it on TV. Come on now, turkey day isnt even here, and they are talking about Santa.
    But................what can I do.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I used to work in the outdoor lawn and garden dept. at a big box store when I was in college. It got turned into the Christmas department from October-January. All I heard all day long were singing, dinging Christmas decorations. The stuff gave me a headache. It took me probably 10-12 years before I even bothered putting up a tree.

I too get annoyed by all the hoopla, and especially this year because all those retailers are desperate for people to buy. 99% of the crap they sell is made in China anyway so its not like you're helping Americans anyway. Personally, I have told my family members to NOT send us anything. They do anyway but someday I will get them to stop.

What REALLY annoys me are the diamond ads. For starters, buying diamonds in my opinion is retarded. Debeers has a virtual monopoly on them and they can charge whatever they want. The ads are made because a lot of men are stupid and think all they have to do is blow a chunk of change on a rock to make their wives wet themselves. They always show a woman sitting there- either with a newborn kid or with children for extra heart-wrenching effect- and a bumbling guy who has hidden some diamond in a box. "Oh look!- he went to Jareds!"

    makes me sick...

I think they should make it a law that you cannot put up any Xmas decorations until after thanksgiving. The city already put up the decorations for our town. And my neighbor put his up this past weekend. Pisses me off

If I'm still alive and healthy and their decorations don't skew that, I'm happy. More power to them.

    Why complain about petty stuff?

This time of year really capitalizes on one thing and shows what really drives people - GREED. Makes me sick and burns me up how people are this time of year.

Remember last year when a store worker was trampled to death when doors opened on Black Friday? What else makes people get up early to do anything?

Whatever meaning Christmas had has been lost somewhere between the stack of ads for the biggest sales of all time ever and the 2AM lines around the parking lot for the big screen TVs. Did you know that Thanksgiving is just a big meal so you can shop all day the next day?

I don't know if its like this outside of a metropolitan area...I hope not. I've been living in the DC Metro area all my life and I can only hope that I can escape one day.

The economy be damned I hope this shopping season is the worst ever.

One is pretty lights and the other is people at wall mart. It has nothing to do with christmas. You announce that there are huge deals any day at walmart and you will have hillbilly stampedes.

Christmas is what you make it. Don't let others greed make your outlook on life be to shitty. We have enough shitty attitudes.

Seriously I haven't had a Christmas decoration on the outside of my house ever. The Neighbors think I'm a Jehovas Witness
Nothing says "come and steal my new stuff "like advertising with decorations.
