You can't tell what is going on in that video, FYI don't take your information too seriously from a news paper. News papers do lie and mislead the public often.

Just my two cents, and no I'm not trying to get in a argument with you, I'm just stating an opinion.

Just typical cops with short man syndrome that got picked on in high school, and now they think they're bad ass cuz they have a gun and a stick!

AHHHHAAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....This is the typical response to videos like this from people who don't understand anything about police and just want bitch because that don't have all that "power" themselves

That kid was NOT compliant-I don't care if he wanted his glasses. He was given clear task direction to do something in a situation where he did NOT have the latitude to make decisions. He broke the law and got the police involved in his life. They will give you glasses, water, your phone call, pretty much whatever- but you have to work within their framework.

Compliant is laying on your stomach/back/sitting like they tell you too and putting your arms out, not rolling around and screaming back at police while avoiding being handcuffed.

The baton was overkill IMO...but may be authorized by that departments policy-A taser would have gotten the job done for me. Hell....I've trained with less and still gotten the guy in cuffs.

yes sir,no sir, thank you sir. these 3 reponses will get you out of a beating. i feel most police(not all guys so spare me the flaming)abuse their power in some way or another. if they tell you to do something, just do it. your not going to win at that point. if you feel your rights were violated than take the proper steps to seek justice,

    1. Last month the police are called because this guy was brandishing a weapon at his roommate and he was charged.
    2. This month the Police are called for another disturbance and the paper claims the Police are using too much force.
    3. Next month this guy will kill his roommates and the paper will ask why the Police don't do their jobs.

I'm sure I have an unpopular opinion, but here it is - if you've never been a cop then I don't really think any of you know exactly what it's like. I'm not saying all police are good, honest people, there's plenty of them that are A**holes and abuse their power. I'm just saying you can't be too quick to judge.

Because this is the questions the judge asks a potential juror:

Judge: Do you believe in the presumption of innocence until proven guilty?

My response: The Cops would not have arrested him up in the first place unless he was doing something.

I know some cops here in NY.. I know some good ones.. And i know some where they tell me stories, And i say "well I am glad I know you! So that doesn't happen to me!" but then again, I would never be in that situation where they did some "sketchy" stuff.

you're comment is inappropriate at best and not logical to boot. it's an ignorant statement made by what I can only assume to be an ignorant person. Please tell me how being sodomized or robbed will help anyone appreciate police? Will me appreciating police keep me from being victimized? Will you appreciating police help you from being a victim? When you say ignorant things like this, it makes you look incredibly stupid and it is disrespectful of people who have been in that unfortunate position regardless of their like/dislike for police. You should think before you type.

I applaud all police for doing their jobs as I don't want to be the one to do it. In this case, however, there is obviously a portion of this incident that we don't see-as the camera is rolling after the incident has started. Furthermore, other events may have triggered this. In any case, it's a shame that people have to be treated like mad animals at times, but unfortunately people don't listen. It appears to me that some of what is "heard" isn't necessary but I'm not there and I don't know the threat.

With all do respect Gossamer, you have to know Dan (dgerm) as a person to "appreciate" his humor. For what it is worth, he is far from an ignorant person.

    Welcome to the internet.
