I haven't confirmed this but in my latest newsletter from LC Engineering it claimed that Downey is the latest victim of the economy.

    Downey Off Road No Longer

a long time company that supported the Toyota enthusiast is the latest victim of the current times. After over 30 years they have shut their doors. We are trying to support there product the best we can call us for your parts need we will see what we can do.

    Anybody else here about this?

Apparently they closed at the end of July, 2009. They may still manufacture some products for distribution.

Downey Off Road Mfg. ceased operation on July 31, 2009.
There are ongoing negotiations with six different well known companies who are interested in continuing major portions of the Downey product line. You will no doubt find Downey products at one or more of those companies in the near future. We thank your for being a part of our 39 year history.
