I'm a teacher at a public school, and last week I got an email about a kid in my class who's homeless, living at a shelter, and is under the care of the state. Don't know any details other than the poor kid barely makes it through a day of school cause they can't sleep at the shelter. They can't even own anything of value, not even an ipod, because it might get stolen. With all these hardships, this kid is the nicest kid you'll ever meet, and a wicked good artist. I don't know yet if it'll even be possible (legality and all) but my wife and I are going to see if this kid can come visit us during the school christmas break, at least have a night or 2 of restful sleep if possible. Anyway, I guess the point of this post is just keep people like this teenager in mind during your holidays, and if you see somebody who needs help, try to help in whatever way you can.

Usually kids who are homeless or ESE (Special Ed) are the nicest kids you will ever meet. I wish I could do something for these kids. They can have great futures ahead of them but they are held back because of their conditions.

I think if yall could be a "foster" family that would make him feel like he has more hope than he does now. and that he will try to make a change himself.
