Trying to figure out which one of the 2 controls I need to replace on my Kenmore dishwasher. Currently the control panel is in locked mode and it won't unlock = having to hand wash everything. I used the option once since our 16mo is getting button pushy. now it won't unlock.
Sears tech says it will cost me $130 for a repair man to come out plus parts. The part I need is either $105 or $110, depending on which I need.

    any help out there?

Like it's frozen up with all the lights lit?? If so there is a sequence to the buttons that you push to make it "reboot". I had to do it on mine a few years ago. The lady on the 800 number walked me through it. I just can't remember the sequence now. Hope that helps a little.

1-800 clowns were less than helpful since its 3 years old and I have not extended plan... I had asked to speak with a tech and they directed me to a website I could submit my question to... no reply yet.
Sometimes the lock light flashes when I push the dry cycle, to unlock, sometimes it does nothing.. .which is leading me to believe its the panel and not the actual controller.
all other buttons make the lock light blink 3 times as mentioned in the manual when the panel is locked.

I have the "ultra quiet" model. The lock button has to be depressed for several seconds before it will cycle the latch.
You can also try pushing heated dry and normal wash buttons several times in sequence, ??3 times?? to get the panel to reset.

anymore on this "sequence" you speak of.
I am willing to try anything before I drop the coin on a new panel.

Push "heated dry" then "normal wash" back and forth three times I think then it should respond with all the lights lit. Then I believe "start" button to reset. They should all blink then go out. My memory on this has faded somewhat. It was my 8yr old boy that actually got it to work.
