I had driven entire winters in the Colorado mountains in a 2WD Suburban. Besides, I don't live there anymore. I have never (in 700,000+ miles of driving) absolutely needed 4WD on a hauler. That is what this truck is for me - a hauler. So, my plan is to use this truck as my highway, commuting, towing, and everything else truck. Eventually, I will get a 1st generation Tacoma Regular Cab 4WD and put a Toyota Diesel in it. I just have to many more pressing needs right now.

Yeah, I am worried about fuel economy, but more so I am worried about the maintenance. This is going to be a 500,000+ mile truck (including the diesel swap). I want to make it as functional and as simple as possible. Plus, the diesel swap is made much easier by doing it on a PreRunner instead of a 4WD.

I loved my 2.7L PreRunner, but I needed 4 doors and a long bed. So, here I am...
