I've seen a lot of members receive advice on woman and relationships, so i figured it was the place to come.

Long story short- I've had a pretty bad past with a couple of long term relationships turning bad. That has put a jealousy factor in my life that tends to ruin new relationships. Another problem i have is that i am a long term kinda guy and when i start talking to a girl i really like i start to overwhelm and scare her away.

New story- I was talking to a friend over the holidays about relationships and how Ive been single for bout 4 months and have been looking for a good girl (really hard to find). Anyways she mentioned that she had the perfect girl for me. I said what the hell and gave it a shot. She gave her my number and we have been texting the last couple of days and finding out information about each other before we actually meet in person. I have seen pictures (and no im not posting them lol) of her and shes really cute. Right now we live an hour and a half away which doesnt bother me because i go to the town she lives in alot and im probably moving there in a couple of months for my masters.

Well the more and more we text, the more im finding out that she is awesome. She is really big into cars and trucks, she likes to fish and surf, cool ass personality and she is going to school. So the more i text with her im starting to think i have finally met a girl really in common with me.

Ok, now here is the problem. I dont want to overwhelm her at first just because i like her or it will result in me scarying her away. She seems to like me also so i have a shot, if i don't F*** it up. So what advice can you give me to make sure i take it slow but still show im interested?

Im suppose to meet her in person next weekend.

    Thanks guys!

go meet up with her. just keep it friendly unless you really feel she wants more (dont get your hopes up). dont mention that your really in it for the long haul.

if all goes well, say your good byes then dont initiate conversation for the standard 3 days. if she talk to you, by all means dont ignore her.

if things work out and you start to get jealous down the road, just tell her youve had bad experiences in the past. she should understand.

TAKE IT SLOW!!!!! Use the fact that shes lives 1 1/2hrs away to your advantage, keep it light at first movies, eating out, concerts etc... Dont rush into bed because that could mess it up (my .02 done it to many times ) Just be cool about it .

just take it slow bro. if it is meant to be it will happen. i found that it's best not to mention anything long term until it comes up in conversation. hopefully she will clue you in soon as to what her intensions are and you can build on it from there.
    Good Luck.

not to change the subject, but did you ever get your vibration taken care of?

Take it easy. Dont rush anything, and see what happens. Just be a gentleman and dont get your hopes up. Dont get ahead of yourself, if it is meant to be, it is meant to be. What are you guys supposed to be doing?

    keep the advice coming guys,

Yeh im not talking bout rushing into bed, more of wanting to see where its going right away.

Rhodehard- it has only done it once since they replaced the driveshaft. So i ordered a carrier bearing drop to hopefully fix it. The toyota in georgia had it for a week checking everything out, and all seemed well.

Dude, I agree with the rest...easy and slowly. Don't rush into anything including sex. And don't talk about your past love affairs, bad relations with chicks and don't show off or brag...that turns them off. Be cool and calm.

Yeh like i said im not a person to make the first move, so rushing sex isnt anything to worry bout. Mostly just worried bout smothering her.

I have a hard time with the first time I meet a girl to have and extra guy around, I had bad experience. :( But she is probably going to like you to make all the decisions, most girls do. Just try to keep a conversation going too. Dont talk about yourself the whole time, try to get her to open up too.

Be slightly early. Yes she will be late anyway, unless you were. Notice how nice she looks out loud - she spent hours getting ready. Smile and listen to her way more than talking. Open doors for her. Try your best not to even look at her boobs, she will catch you. Give it time in between calls. Enjoy the moment as it may become something more, or it may not, but at least you had a great time.

Basically what everyone else said. Don't make her feel rushed or awkward. I wouldn't talk about your past relationships with her on this date either.
