Free Air?

Is there such a thing as a gas station that still offers free air? Do you know of any? Are there any nationwide gas stations that still do this?

 

And they would be....

 

Hess is still free if that is around you.

 

At most gas stations you have to ask them to turn it on. They use a remote to do so. Try that next time

 

We have a BP here that still has free air. Also, most tire shops will hook you up if you just drop by. If there's one you frequent where you know somebody, try stopping by there, too.

 

No one in my area except one Citgo Jiffy Mart. Most have the pay stations that are not worth a dang! I go to my friends shop or use the little portable compressor I got at Lowe's in a pinch.

 

there is a shell station that has it here, only place in town though...I just use my little compressor I keep in my truck, its takes forever but gets the job done

Free water and air is a law in California. But, you have to buy gas. even 5 cents worth.

Their air pumps are sweet. Not just an air hose with a nozzle, but you preset the PSI you want on the pump and it'll beep whenever the tires reached that.


But now I have a portable air compressor in my truck (Viair 90P) so I dont really need to worry about airing up at gas stations anymore.

 

The Shell station by my house has free air, but I use my portable air compressor.

 

there still are some old school gas stations around here with free air, but if it was built in the last 5 or so years it seems they are all pay to air. Most seem to be around .75 to air up for 4 or 5 minutes.

What, the portable ones?

I've yet to use mine, but Viair says that it takes 2min 30 sec to go from 15 to 30psi in a 31x10.5. It's not "fast" but it will get the job done.

 

The only problem I've had with the one by my house is whenever I tried to pump up the tires in my road bike. They're supposed to be up around 75-85psi, and the Sheetz pump would only pump them up to like 65 and then just not go any higher

 

I thought all gas stations were required to offer free water and air. Maybe it's only California. I have never had a problem. I just ask them to turn it on.
