My friend,16, got a brand new Ford Escape last week. His dad works for a dealer so they got it for cheap, and he could only get a ford. Well his car already has engine problems and he has to drive his moms car around. I thought they were making better quality now these days.....

Sometimes cars have problems no matter who makes them, my truck had all sorts of problems after getting it new. I wouldn't judge them too much, but what kind of engine problems was it?

My Tacoma I bought brand new is on its' 3rd driveshaft at 14,000 miles. So does that mean Toyota's quality is crap??? And NO I don't abuse my truck....it's never even been off road. All vehicles are built (somewhat) by people and there is a bad one in every bunch. I make my living selling Ford vehicles and I would put there latest line up against any Make out there......

I think fords quality on some of its marks is really getting better. They should take advantage of all the people who have lost faith in dodge and gm I think they could be the new "domestic" king

I highly agree with your statement, and I have thought the same. I think they have made some good moves, especially not taking bailout money.

Except the decision to stop production on the Ranger pickup. Stupid!!!!!! They should remake it into the same size as the Tacoma, and power.

Grew up around Ford trucks, and people saying their not quality vehicles are full of shit. None of our Ford's ever had any issues, except for one of the windows not working. My Mom's '03 Sequoia's rear sliding window has only worked half the time since it was purchased.

Used to be you never bought a vehicle that was built on a Monday or Friday. Monday was the day the autoworkers were getting over the weekend hangover and Friday they were looking beyond work to being off for two days. Actually there was some truth to that seemed vehicles built Tuesdat through Thursday had less issues.

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
I would much rather buy American and I hope most of you would do the same.
My dads f-150 has 120k on it at least and never a problem until about a month ago with the O2 sensor. If they built a compareable vehicle to the Tacoma I would have a Ford.
I still love my tacoma though.

My first car was an '83 ford bronco full size. We bought it with 260,000 miles on it for $300 because the 300 straight 6 needed a rebuild (low compression) but it still ran. We rebuilt it and I drove it very hard for 2 years. That thing was awesome and NEVER gave me a problem. I know fords went downhill in the late 90's and early 2000's, but they are getting better again.
