I Spilled Motor Oil

All Over my bed. I didnt close my drain pan properly and it spilled all over. Any ideas on how to remove it? I tried liquid laundry detergent, degreaser, and powerwashing, none work. I have a rubber bed mat and thats the main location of the spill.

cat litter to soak most of it up, then brush off or vacuum up. then wash the rest. Also Carb cleaner works.

im kind of wondering what the potential for damage is on these composite beds. oil and carb cleaner sound like they might could harm the plastic?
ive got my drain pan full of oil sitting in the back of my truck as well, waiting to get recycled. hope mine doesnt spill, that sounds like a nasty mess

Try this

That sucks...

Try this:
  1. Put down some baking soda on the oil stain.
  2. Put a piece of cardboard on top of the baking soda.
  3. stack something on top of the card board to apply pressure.
  4. Wait a few hours, overnight would be good.
Repeat as necessary.

Better get that cleaned up or your bed will start to rust!

Use Simple Green. Non-toxic and that stuff cleans everything.

It was dark lAst night so I couldn't see the results but I out cat litter all over the bed and let it sit while I was at work (5hours). When i got off, I swept it up and power washed the bed at a local self service car wash. Then I poured about 60oz of simple green in the bed and scrubbed with a wire brush and rinsed. I've yet to see the results but will keep you guys posted.

Most of it's gone. Some spots remain where I missed scrubbing last night. So the verdict: sufficient simple green and a wire brush will remove motor oil from our composite beds and rubber bed mats. Thanks again guys.
