Nothing like the floods in the mid west, but rare for this part of the country.

    Little league field.

Just got back from my parents in Warwick, RI. 10" of water in the basement. Unreal. Complete loss for the most part. Everyone I have talked to in RI so far has at leats a few inches. Except for me, I am still dry as a bone. Thank god.

Those pictures are the Wood River in Hope Valley RI. It crested at about 8:00 PM so it's on the way down. Looks like the fire station has some damage, and a few houses are pretty messed up but the worst is over. I'll get some pictures of the aftermath when they open the road back up. This is about 6 miles from my house.

Was that the Pawtuxet River? I heard it was pretty bad up that way.

I live in Warwick Ri and on the Pawtuxet. No water in my basement but dang! The river into the bay here is nuts. I saw a yellow lab floating in an empty plastic backyard fish pond tub...hilarious!

These are pics from 6pm, I took them on my crappy cell phone. The river is now crested the area with the truck crossing the flooded road is now under two feet of water. The car did get pulled out (i watched and laughed) he had to hook the chain up himself laying down under his car. The third pic is of my fishing spot the river is usually slow, the bridge I was standing on is now under water. The last two pics are of a nice little waterfall by my house, it's big today! There was a kid in a raft in the river down stream from the water fall, he had to get rescued by the police, i guess he was a dare devil. I'm not sure how much rain we got but this is the worst I have ever seen my area. Oh and i live on a hill my house is nice and dry, my neighbors do not have similar stories.

The Pawtuxet was around 18ft. Flood stage is 9ft. My folks just had rainwater. Ground was just saturated. 8.3" fell at the airport. They never had any water issues in 43 years at that house. Amazing to say the least.

Floods are really something we don't have to deal with here. I don't remember the last time this happened. This is nothing compared to what I see on TV when the Mississippi floods from one end to the other. There is some damage, but probably not too bad, I hope.

    Edit: Evening Susan.
