Today my mom bought a subie for my sister because she needs a more reliable car than her 91 ford taurus that keeps breaking down. we got it at a toyota dealership. Its a Subaru Legacy Limited edition 30th anniversary 4dr sedan. Its got 109k on it auto and its AWD. we got it for 8k OTD. Blue book is like 9400. so we got it for 2400 under kbb. because tax and licensing was calculated to be about 1000. anyways thought id share. i might be driving this occasionally. so yeah. comment or not haha idk.

looks nice. that price seems super steep for that many miles. hmm. apparently subies hold their value really well also!

Good thing about Subies is that they are totally plug and play. Find a blower off a Impreza and go to town. (Provided it's the same engine)

Not my taste but looks nice! I get excited when family gets new cars. My step dad just got a 2007 tundra with 22 or 24k miles for $20k otd. :)

thats what you would think with a tacoma. but they hold their value well and they have long lasting engines.

    1. Subies are turbocharged, not supercharged.

    2. It's NOT that simple.

8k is WAY high. 30th anniv. would make it a '99. You can pick up a 2005 Legacy with those kind of miles for ~8k.

    I know they're turbocharged. It's just a slang term.

    2. It's also not that hard.

It's not that hard if you know what you're doing with the all the mechanical swapping that is involved and how to properly tune a car for FI that didn't have it before.

But "plug and play" is in no way an accurate representation of the difficulty level of that kind of swap for a first timer.

Same thing could be said for driving.

I'm just saying in terms of actual application. You don't have to replace anything on the engine with reinforced pieces like on some vehicles.

The 2.5 is the same across the board.

actually, you have to replace a shitload of pieces. exhaust manifold, uppipe, intake, intake manifold, maf, plugs, injectors, fuel pump, add intercooler, turbo oil lines and coolant lines, tap oil pan, etc.

and the 2.5 is not the same across the board. there are different compression pistons, different heads, open decks and semi-closed decks

ej251, ej255, ej257, etc. are not just different numbers.

it's functional in the fact that there is an actual hole, but it doesn't feed an intercooler on the NA models.

    Sweet.

Not really a huge fan of subies, but they call them legos, you can just fucking, bolt on whatever you want man and theyre good to go. the 2.5s are cool too, not much you need to do.
