we just got our aussie and she has already learned to sit (for about 2 seconds) and she is already letting us know she needs to go to the bathroom at 9 weeks old. the vet said since shes so advanced at it we should do the bell thing on the door. We are going to start working with her on this.

pretty cool to see a smart chocolate lab! lol I have one at my dads and she is the dumbest dog ever. she eats the yellow labs turds, licks everyone, and various other stupid things ive never seen a dog do. lol

good job training her! keep up the work!

teachin yur dog to ring the bell wont take effect on the first few days. it took ours about 8-10 days to catch on and do it by herself w/o me askin if she had to go outside. but i got her to ring it everytime i asked her to go outside. the only thing that sucks is that she rings the dam thing even if she dont need to go potty its annoyin but at least she rings it & aint had an accident since she started ringin it.

go get u one of them parrot/bird bells from petsmart. its like the one i have n the video. i like that it has that ball thing around it so it bounces off the door when she hits it

I tought my Corgi to ring the bell when he needs to go outside, he's just under 5 months and has been potty trained for about a month. It took him only 3 days to figure it out. And like you said above, he likes to ring it just to go play outside haha. He can sit and fetch as well, which was hard because Corgi's are not natural fetchers by any means, he will still run off with this toy at times. I am now teaching him to shake and speak. Oh and his name is Turbo

yeh I def. dont intend for her to pick it up super quick. Thats the one thing I can see happening with her is she rings it just to go outside. lol I am used to letting my other dog in and out all the time though so its not a big deal. I will have to stop by petsmart tomorrow and pic one of those up. thats nice so it doesnt mess the window up.

All my dogs ring the bell to go outside. My bull terrier always wants to be outside though, but when outside he realizes it is F-in hot then wants to come back in.

my 2 year old German shepperd knows
-sit
-stay
-lay
-back up
-go to bed
-go out side
She is an awesome frisbee dog and could probably jump over my head! Im working on getting her to launch off my knee to catch it.

my dog as a kid, a mut that now lives at my moms, he is like a beagle/weenie dog...idk
but he knows the difference in
-go out back
-go in the front
also can
-shake
-roll over
and I can set a treat on his nose and he wont get it untill I tell him too.

My 8 month old boxer Nitro can sit and lay down. He is fully house trained. I want to teach him some jumping tricks. We also go to dog school every saturday. The trainer went to the national police dog school in ohio.

Tank learned to use the potty bells in 1 day and used them consistently after that with no accidents, he even makes the motions at other peoples houses who don't have bells. I think he was about 3 months old when I taught him the bells, but he now has a dog door to use.

He learned most of his tricks in 1-2 days, he is very easy to train.
But I can't seem to get him to roll over , he doesn't mind being on his back, but we have tried all the techniques and he just doesn't do it. He does most of the normal tricks, so we are working on fancy stuff.

Tank will get certain toys that you ask for such as ball, frisbee, rope, glove, squeaky. He will check his toy basket for the toy you asked for and if it's not in there he will go look for it. Trying to teach him to put them all away is another story though .
My bf wants me to teach him to bring him a beer, but Tank is too little .

Youtube is great for dog training videos! There are also a couple good shows on animal planet.

Both of my former dogs had gone through some of the stages of shutzen. My boxer Capone was amazing. High pray drive, just amazing. Now shutzen for those that don't know is German police dog training which includes full attack and restraint, and I've never seen a dog get after it like Capone. The amazing thing is he would go on whisper command and pull off the same way. My wife was scared shitless by the whole thing so my current boxers were not allowed to go through it, but i will say if you own a strong breed dog, its completly worth it.
