Please don't misconstrue what I am saying. All I said is that in my experience people use religion as their main reason for being prolife.I'm not saying it's right or wrong, all I said is that I wanted to hear other theories which I am. I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread.

I think the issue is not whether abortion should be legal or not. Much of the discussion is around when an embryo of fetus becomes human. I think every one agrees that there should be some sort of regulation on abortion, or at least when an abortion becomes illegal.

Here in Canada, there is no abortion law. The law was struck down over 20 years ago as non-constitutional. It's a free for all here. if you kill a baby while he still has a big toe in the birth canal, it's abotion, and not murder. You folks in the States would not want to go down this path.

A few years ago, I read of a case in BC where a doctor killed a baby while delivering. The parents wanted the doctor to be charged with at least man slaughter, but it was deamed only an abortion because the baby was not fully out of the birth canal. It's a scary world here.

Agreed. I'm enjoying it too, because so far, religion hasn't been a part of this discussion.

Abortions should be legal before the third trimester. After that, I think it should be illegal. There's my views on the legality of it. :p

They would probably view it the same as killing Joseph Mengale.

I agree. If you claim you're pro-life, then why would you kill?

I agree, sometimes dramatic actions like that need to be taken to save lives.

Wow. You would think that there would at least be malpractice consequences for that. I mean, it's one thing to abort a fetus upon request -- it's completely different to kill a mother's child which she has every intent on baring and raising.

    Amazing.

I don't remember if there was a mal practice charge. I'm assuming there was. But that's nothing compared to manslaughter. You lose your licence, but you don't go to jail.

    That's fucked up.

Comparing an abortion doctor who provides a safe, clean practice to patients requesting a procedure to a Nazi torturer who performed experiments on his subjects. while alternately deciding who went to the gas chamber and who went to the labor camps is absurd to the point of lunacy.

This thread has lost all credibility, and anyone who feels that this is a valid argument needs to take a long hard look inside.

    I'm outta here.

I didn't say it was a valid comparison. I'm just saying that's how they view it.

    I agree. See below.
The murderer is just exercising his ability to choose, making him more human. You should be applauding him. ;)

Just to clarify, that isn't my opinion on it, but rather what the people that do that think they are accomplishing.
