I was 9 years old. I may have been young, but I sure as hell remember what was going on - we (my family) had just been in the south tower 28 days before.

I rember waking up as the phone was ringing, way early. It was my dad calling from work, and told us to get up and turn the news on. That's when I remember seeing the footage and thinking "we were just there a few weeks ago".

I had a big job going on at the Airport (Sky Harbor Int.), and was in bed when I was woken up by a call from my Dad. It was his company I worked for, and he said "Did you hear what happened". "No", I replied. He told me to turn on the TV, and I saw the 2 Towers burning. He said he thinks we are being attacked, could you go secure the job?. I hung up and got dressed as the news was showing the Towers falling. I sat there on my bed, stunned. I got to the airport, and it was amazing! EVERY plane was on the ground. They were parked where ever they could fit. The south side of the airport was packed with military personell. I was escorted to our site by Armed Air Force guys, and allowed to check out/secure our stuff. It was an eirie atmosphere. :(

10 Sep is my birthday. I will remember 11 Sep forever.

Between our Dad and my siblings we put in 120+ years of total US military service, we would have served again to fight the terrorists had not for our age.

I am doing the next best thing. I am a volunteer Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Military Rifle Instructor augmenting the US Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) in training the Squad Designated Marksman (SDM) before they deploy. I have been to Ft. Benning twice the last two years, and now slated to go to Ft. Lewis in Oct. This is my contribution to the war on terror.

I got out of my truck and was walking in to my job site so I just missed the bulletin that a plane had struck one of the towers. My co-worker was a little late and filled me in. An electrician happened to have a portable tv and we sat and watched as the towers came down. We were just heartbroken. Didn't get anything done that day.
Spent that night in jail (long story).

I was in my AP Psych class my junior year of high school. The teacher next door came in and told us "The World Trade Center is on fire!" Our TV was on the fritz so we all crowded into the next room to watch the coverage. It was a reserve weekend for my dad, a retired Navy Commander, so I was concerned after we heard about the Pentagon. I will never forget...
