So i live in the great state of california where gas is now 4 bucks a gallon for 87. While putting gas in the truck one day i was thinking to myself if gas prices keep going up should i even be thinking about modding my truck? This has been on my mind more and more with gas prices going up. My question to you guys is how much does gas prices influence what kind of modding to your truck you do. I'm not talking about light mod or putting a mesh grill on. I'm talking about bigger tires, wheels, armor for your truck, suspension. just wondering if gas prices play a part as much as it is to me right now.

The way I see it, I'm going to pay a crap ton of money to drive a truck either way, might as well spend the extra money to make it the way I want it. Even if I lose 2-3MPG from tires and whatnot, the difference in looks on my truck and performance makes up for it in my mind.

I've thought about this quite a bit. To me it is definitely worth the 1 or 2 less miles to the gallon (35 miles to a tank) to be able to use the advantages of the tires, armor, suspension, etc. I think that it is well worth the slight loss in mpgs myself.
