I never thought such a thing could ever happen, but I ran over my dog today with my truck. I was pulling away from the shop and didn't even see him there. He is almost 18 years old and has been with me my whole life almost, best damn dog that I have ever had. Broke his pelvis and he is at the vets now, all that can be done is let it heal, idk if he can though at his age. Hes like 120 in dog years. Just never felt so bad in my life, sick to my stomach and depressed, just hope my old boy is going to be okay, dog means the world to me. :pout: Sorry for the somber words but I had to get it out.

Sorry to hear that man. Never owned a dog, but see many people that treat them like one of their own children. Hope he does okay.

Its hard to understand it until that moment when you finally realize that he is not just a dog, he is family. Hardest thing I have ever done was put my dog down after we battled with malignant tumors at the old age of 15. My thoughts are with him today.

I just had my 14 year old black lab put down a few weeks ago it's hard, I knew a guy at my last work place that ran over his dog and made the mistake of telling the wrong people about it and they teased him/ gave him a real hard time, at least you don't have to deal with that I felt pretty bad for the guy

I hope he pulls through. My wife and I had to put down or 5 year old dachshund b/c she suffered a severe, unrepairable back injury. She was my wife's baby when we were going through infertility. I was ok when we were told she wasnt going to recover. But when we made that decision to put her down, we both lost it. So I'll pray that he recovers. I understand now that a dog is more than a dog.

bummer dude! that really sucks. about all of my dogs have been run over at some point, but they always pull through lol. . . hope yours recovers well. I'm sure the arthritis will suck, but dogs heal amazingly.

Sorry to hear the bad news brotha. Hopefully he will pull through just keep you head up and we will keep him in our thoughts. I know how you feel though, my dad ran over one of my dogs backing up as well when I was in Jr. High and he was just a small little guy so he didnt make it.

that sucks. dogs are tough though. had an Australian Sheppard that got ran over 3 or 4 times, got in a fight with a running lawn mower, hit in the head many a time with a baseball bat, caught a lot of baseballs to the face, and survived a rottweiler attack. finally kicked the bucket at 16 from a brain tumor and I had to take her to get put down. I loved that dog and it sucked. just know that you gave it a good life and it doesnt blame you one bit.

Yeah, this is the 4th time hes been run over, crazy how tough they are. Not to mention jumping or falling out if many pickups, getting in fights with other dogs as well. I know I am honestly surprised he made it past 11, mixed breeds are better built than purebreds though I've seemed to notice. They dont typically have a long line of heredity issues.

sorry to hear man! hope he has a full recovery and gets back to his old self agin! we have 3 dogs right now. and i think 2 of them will not be here much longer (maybe 2 years) the grayhound is just old about 13, she does have anxiety lol. when no one is home they all go in grates. well the grayhound freaks the FU** out if left to long. idk why. and the pug who is about 7 or 8 i think lost track. has a bad back/hip can’t jump on to the couch any more.
