Well its officially here...the worst time of the year....Love bug season!!! I think these things were genetically engineered by a secret society of car wash owners. It is the most irritating thing in the world, trying to keep those suckers off of your vehicle. Do other parts of the country get this as bad as we do down here in the south? Just felt like bringing this up after i washed my truck on my lunch break and by the time i got home from work my grille, hood and windshield are covered in mushed bugs...grrrr!

Here are some pics for dramatic effect. lol

Ha ha ha, good one. Good one. Unfortunately, no car wash can remover them. Out here, you have to sand your ride down and repaint.

Pls. reconsider that. Have you seen George W Bush in action?

And here I thought just us Floridians had the pleasure of love bugs twice a year! We use truck bras and only use them during that time.

    Wow, Love bugs?

Ever had a run in with the Canadian Air Force? It's like mustard and ketchup packets have exploded all over you car.

I drove the AlCan and about every 50 miles we had to stop and scrub the windshield.

    Anyone looked into this?

What Rick said is true. They were an experiment gone bad. Brought in for a mosquito remedy, some escaped and the rest...as we say, is history. I've seen them on a lake, clustered on the surface, fish will grab'em and in a few seconds you'll see them pop back up and fly off 'cause they taste like s***...ask any Biker!! LOL BTW, clean 'em off your Taco ASAP 'cause they are acidic and will absolutely eat your paint up!!

Yeah, I've heard that about the escaped experiment as well. The only think i can really count on is that they only last 3weeks or so. I was driving around today and they seemed worse than usual. If you turned the radio down you could hear them splat on the windshield every half second. and with ever splat sound i was getting more and more aggervated and by the end of the day i had a serious case of road rage. Here is todays damages before i made it to the car wash. started the day with a clean truck and took this picture at noonish.

I have to drive over a bridge to get home from work every night.....yeeeah. Its BAD. I've put rain-x on my windshield and if you wax the rest of it they come off easier.

cover your front end and windsheild with seran wrap, then use a hairdryer to shrink it up so it fits tight and you can see through it. Then at the end of the day just peel it off. Just do that every night. There, problem solved, and i'll only charge you $20 each for the idea
