06 Tacoma 4 door indigo blue

Broken and scratched tailgate, cracked rear tail light lens, coffee stain in driver seat.

I was bouncing around on youtube today and was watching videos of all these land rovers tooling through the mud, up and down hill and dale, with what appears to be a stock truck on stock tires. Does anybody know what makes these trucks go so well; power to weight ratios ? small skinny tyres ? I don't get it, but they do look like a formable force off road.
