7MGE-T, i trust the 7M, l'll keep it as long as it keeps going, if I do swap it'll probably be 1J, I don't know how easy or hard it is to find parts for that motor though. I won't be starting on it anytime soon though, need to deck out the truck first

If you go 1j. A word of advice is try to get yourself the 2j ecu or just go 2j. The 1j ecu is nown to fry if you keep pushing it or if you boost more than stock on the turbo. Other than that. The 1j should just drop in. My younger brother is a big MK3 supra guy. He has a 91 with the stock 7mgte and a 90 with a 1j he bought for a pretty good deal.

Sorry, let me correct that. The ecu doesnt completly fry. Just something in the ecu that control the boost turbo fries and cause the turbo to not work i thino. Imma have to ask my brother what it is though. But before my brother bought the 90 supra. He already had a 2j ecu that he was planing on getting from a friend in texas. But then the previous owner said he had went through 2 1j ecu and the 2j was what some people on the supra forums told him go get. So thats whats in the car when he bought it.

Oh ok, I didn't know that was a problem with them, havn't looked into them at all. But if that is the case, I will be staying 7M. Everyone and their mother has a 2J

But 7ms just have a HG issue and rod knock issue. If you know what your doing, you can prevent both quite easily tho. 1js just aren't worth loosing the bottem end torque over. 1.5jz are pretty cool tho..or going 2jzge-t is a cheap way to get a 2j as well.

A 1.5J is a 1J block with a 2J head right? I'm not really looking to ever have over 500hp, but yeah 2JZGE-T will be the way I go if i do that.

Ohhh ok, so the 1J head has better flow than the 2J???
