ok realistic future plans for the next few months
- paint (-w-h-i-t-e-) gray metallic (kinda like MGM
- gm 1 wire swap (my alternators fried) ended up swapping in another toyota alt. (DONE)
- finally get her tagged and insured and officially in my name
- battery (if one of the 3 i have arent any good) (done)
- small lift with ifs even though i already have the axle for the SAS, i just dont want to swap in a stock axle i want to swap in a built axle

so i sold the body and the swiss cheese frame to a guy for assistance (mostly just welding) in the future sas on this truck.


im also thinking about ether ditching the brush guard or just cutting off the headlight guards on it

i haven't really decided

did it and didnt like it

so i took the whole guard off and reworked mt front bumper on and put the lower valance (sp?) on that i got from the 84 donor and ended up looking pretty good

also when i was working on the bumper and stuff i had the truck on two tires (like car ramps) and when i backed off of them BOTH of the tires poped up and bent the lower valance and bent the bumper alittle i just spent an hour taking the old off and fixing everything and i just painted it so yea i was pissed

 

couldn't sleep tonight so i went out and dropped the front diff and drained it in preparation for it and my donor rear diff to be Lincoln locked tomorrow. also tomorrow i will be lifting it

 

I wish i knew how to do this kind of work..... im jelly... i want a project!

 

its been a fun project so far

i wish i could see what both of my trucks look like in the next 5 years, just to know what all I've done to them

 

Damn lux you have some crazy mechanical knowledge. x2 on wishing I knew how to do this stuff and the fun build!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!for the 2 people who care got the diffs welded and the rear is ready to go in, but the front has some slag/trash on the pinion causing it to not turn completely. im gonna try to get it all out before it goes back in, hopefully i wont have to tear it apart to clean it . the lift didnt happen today but i did get the measurements so i know how much i gain hopefully ill get a lot more done tomorrow.

 

not gonna be able to do too much today because..........I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!! and i go in at 4 and stay till ?now im not gonna be able to get stuff done as fast as id like to

 

can somebody help me find a link that show how to dissemble the actual front axle not just the c.v's i keep coming up with SA teardown stuff

 

Like taking the entire front end off in one piece?

thanks alot dude the part i was having problems with was taking the shafts out, i was hoping it'd be like the tacomas i didn't want to just start pounding on it and possibly break something
