If anyone has found a particular carburetor, fuel pressure regulator, or other solution that has treated them well please let me know! I put a Weber 2 barrel on my old 87' yoda back in 2009 and it ran great till about a year ago. It started flooding/not wanting to turn over and I eventually had to rebuild it when the problem became more and more frequent. Shortly after the rebuild it started flooding again...and now only acts up about once a week. I put a fuel pressure regulator and it made no noticable difference regardless of adjustments. I know yall old yoda lovers got some good info!:)

alot of metal, small engine, decent travel.
caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
is the float in the carb just getting stuck? try tapping the side of the bowl with a wrench and see if that helps

(i dont know car/truck carbs, just motorcycles, but i would assume its the same concept)
