87' Pick-up carburetor issues--suggestions?

If anyone has found a particular carburetor, fuel pressure regulator, or other solution that has treated them well please let me know! I put a Weber 2 barrel on my old 87' yoda back in 2009 and it ran great till about a year ago. It started flooding/not wanting to turn over and I eventually had to rebuild it when the problem became more and more frequent. Shortly after the rebuild it started flooding again...and now only acts up about once a week. I put a fuel pressure regulator and it made no noticable difference regardless of adjustments. I know yall old yoda lovers got some good info!

 

is the float in the carb just getting stuck? try tapping the side of the bowl with a wrench and see if that helps

(i dont know car/truck carbs, just motorcycles, but i would assume its the same concept)
