1987 Toyota 22r LT build

whats up guys I got here my 87 Toy that I bought back in 08. Bought it basicly as a clunker. Engine was toast, seats were toast, carburator was toast and the paint and front bumper were as ungly as could be. Over the last 4 yrs or so I have dumped money into this truck like a mother F**cker. Hope you guys like it and let me know what you guys think!




cleaned up the glass took the bumper off the truck and stripped some old purple tint the truck had.

Those were a few pics of how I had it when I first bought it and then with my first set of glass and a bumper.


At the off road expo of 2010 I picked new glass up from mcneil racing.

Now with the new hoops installed I got myself t-100 axles for the 4wd and got to test the truck out in hesperia. I gotta mention though that, that same day I had a bit of an incident and my hood unhooked itself from the stock hood hinch and flapped up on my on the free way.


Got my self a simple rear bumper done on the truck.

Took it out in march to tierra del sol in ocotillo and had some more fun with the 4wd.




in april or may I dont remeber I went back out to the oceano dunes.

 

after that trip didnt go out for a while and still haven't. but I did make some changes. a few months back the grill fell of the truck and I had ran over it and it broke. so I looked on ebay and found an original black grill for an 86 so I got it and had the truck painted too. (first day I got it back).

 

at this time I ditched the front bumper got a stock bumper on and had Deaver f55 springs put on. But I didnt have money at the time to do the whole shabang so I ran it like that for a few months.

 

Did some work on the gas filler neck. Drilled out a perfect circle on the bedsides and poped the gas neck out.

 

Got the rear done by a buddy of mine from DezertRangers.

Here I dropped the truck down as much as I could since the deaver f55 is pretty low

 

Loaded up this past march to go to ocotillo wells for the Tierra Del Sol event. Was a pretty good weekend till it was time to come home my clutch broke on the highway.

 

Ditched the old seat I had for these 01 taco seats. Just drilled out holes for them and put them on.



Took the stock bumper off. random shot.

 

Got some good stuff to replace out my f55 sprigs in favor of the f67.


Same weekend after that got this bumper made which is currently on the truck. oh and somewhere along the line I got this camper shell (now gone).

Got 4 kc lights mounted.

 

Recently I got bypass shock from F.O.A for the rear of my truck. Night and day difference.

 

Took the truck to try out the bypasses ended jumping the truck to get good feel.

Took the truck out to Big Bear Ca a few weeks ago.

 

Pretty much it as of right now. Im redoing all the power steering stuff pump, box ect. and waiting on a hood scoop that ill be throwing on the hood for looks, annddd biggest of all ordered some new wheels today so hopefully will be getting them next week or so.

And thanks for the comments guys. Originally started building this truck because it was what I was able to get straight out of high school. And hopefully in the near future ill be paiting the rest of the truck.
