Ended up with the 5.0 :anonymous: There weren't a lot of lower mileage Ecoboosts coming back in trade and new was out of my price range. Found a nice 2013 XLT with the 5.0L V8. I'll post back with mileage numbers for comparison once I have a couple tanks through it.

Thanks! It's no Tacoma but I needed something a bit bigger as the family grows.

I almost bought an ecoboost. I just have read too many and heard too many horror stories about limp mode, shaking at highway speeds, etc. Guy in the shop has a 2013, his started acting up at 1500 miles. Beautiful trucks though.

Unfortunately, yes. The Taco went in as a trade. I made my last commute with it today :(

:pout: Ah well. Lots of Ford haters here on TW (don't blame them I guess) but all the hating is biased. I love the Eb, and if it were smaller I don't think I would own a taco right now.
Hopefully mine don't have any of those problems, it's been 99% flawless so far.
Cmon, Dick, no one likes a negative Nancy.

    Read up sucka :D
I'll be honest, I wouldn't say I was a hater but I thought I'd end up with a Chevy when I made the jump to full size. Test driving the Ford really changed my opinion on them, they've come a long way. The truck has a lot of nice features and was very comfortable. I hope it lasts me a long time, that'll be the last piece to the puzzle.

Yessir. Not sure if the FX4 is only suspension or suspension and rear e-locker as well, idk if the plain 4x4 has a rear locker honestly. It wouldn't be hard to get one from a junk yard and swap the axle that's for sure. The e-locker on this truck engages immediately, doesn't matter if you are in 4H, 4L or 2WD. Helps a bit pulling a boat up a slippery ramp as well in 2WD. It also disengages just as fast, now only if the front was that way :drevil:

    Out of here you demon.
Ha, I traded an 1998 F150 for my 2014 Tacoma.
That Ford was a great truck, over 200,000 miles on it.

Not sure if I put this here but at 2k miles the A/C stopped working (faulty relay) and just over the weekend it hit 20k miles and the backup camera stopped working. Dealer appt has been made.

Love the way they look (especially your model) but don't think I'd ever buy one. I'm happy with my Tundra.

My neighbor has had an absolute nightmare with his '11 F150 w/ the 5.0. He bought it in May CPO from Ford and he recently put it up for sale bc he's so fed up with the truck. It's been to the dealer 5 times since he bought in May. Rear brakes, shocks, coil packs, ecu, coil packs again...
