I would save the fenders for last. You may want to move the axle forward to help with the tongue weight. To much tongue weight can be a bad thing, you may be at 25 to 30 %. Have you looked at moving your water tank closer to the axle, the closer to the axle the less the weight change from empty to full. The bad thing about to much tongue weight is it transfers weight off the tow vehicle front wheels, if you are towing it with a big dually you will not notice, but a small jeep will have a hard time.

Good thing pretty much only the mods on here have small Heeps.

Are you guys planning on having enough weight in these small(ish) trailers for that to really be an issue?

Better to ask what I have not done.
It's a 06 taco crew long bed (mine) and a Jeep Grand Cherokee (my best friends) that will be towing this and I think I will be the one towing it the most. And It might be hard to not do fenders because the side doors would have to be notched if I have to move the fenders forword. And If I am thinking about this right the ebreaks on the trailer that i can control in the cab will help a bit with weight transfer. And looking at 400 lbs tongue weight with a 1600 lbs trailer would be 25% and that's the high side of what we want tongue weight to be.

Got some stuff done today. Gutted it, took some measurements for insulation, and found some decreps that will need to be addressed. Like the gaps between the floors and the frame, as well as the wiring.

    Check the build thread.
    Awesome thread!

    Thanks for including me Quintin!

My trailer is currently in Cali getting some interior work done to it from Goose-Gear. After that I will be getting the batteries/inverter/solar/fridge/lights etc all wired up and ready to start camping again.

Ya they are pretty awesome. BIG IRON!!!
:jellydance: ready for more pics of it :pccoffee:

Picked up some expanding foam today while I was in anchorage since its like half the price at home depot than at our local true value here on Kodiak island. So tomorrow I'll fill in all the holes I can. I'm prob going to just throw a bead of it all the way around the underside of the flooring.

^If your going to use that stuff and want a smooth curved finish on a 90 degree angle, try an ice cube for the final pass on application.
