You've got a better start than you think. Look at this link, http://tventuring.com/trailerforum/thread-118.html

Hell all you need is time, a drill and some bolts and you've got a solid platform.

I dont quite have that trailer. Its the most basic 4'x4' one they have. Still a good platform to start with though!

So since we are on holiday routine till the 6th of jan and only standing 1 in 4 duty plans are: to pull my trailer into the hangar to dry out (we have had pretty much 2 straight months of rain everyday), remove the inside panels, then take some measurements for insulation, then start to wire in and mount my 5 exterior (3 on the rightside and 2 off the rear) LEDs that I got from blitzpro. Have to see how much I can actually get done with my hand still healing up from having a tumor moved in November.
Pile of crap that needs to go in

Might just be me but if you don't build it yourself (you pay someone to build it for you) it shouldn't really be in a 'build thread' or other build sub forum.

I see what you're saying. i would ave to agree to a point, most don't have the time, equipment, skills of doing everything themselves. in that case if you buy a trailer expo style or not they are still into the same thing we all are which is camping exploring all outdoors activities exc..

Hope every one had a great holiday!! We had a early Christmas here and got a lot of things for the trailer. I had got the axle in on Tuesday along with the water pump, water tank, hinges, pop pins, t handle latches, and other things I probably forgot about (stupid concussions:mad:) any way we decided to go with the trailer springs instead of the 63s  but it allowed me to get some things rolling on the trailer. We also got some flush mount LED break/tail and reverse lights along with a trailer breakaway box for Christmas!!!

Here is how the trailer sits as of tonight.

We got the axle and springs on. And there is quite a bit of tongue weight so far and I was aware of that wheni did the axle to clear the Side doors. But now I'm worried about how much weight there will be up front with the water tank and batteries and such. Being that far forward. The tank full will weight around 240lbs and then a tool box with batteries and all the electrical. So close to 400lbs on the front with only a tire carrier on the back to counter balance that. What is your opinion on the weight  any one that has built one have you had a problem off-road with that weight on the tongue and not being as balanced as possible?

Hope every one had a great holiday!!
    Jake,

Ya I have been putting it off for a little bit, mostly cause we have been getting so much damn rain here lately. Pretty much every dang day:mad:
Totally agree. I may not have the skill to do a complete from scratch build, but I do have enough skill to modify something to fit my needs.

My trailer has 280 lbs to 300 lbs tongue weight fully loaded with the trailer weighing in at 2000 lbs and it pulls great. The tongue weight should be about 10 to 15 % of total weight. I set mine heavier, since I have a RTT up high and back. What will your trailer weigh?

With rtt and full water I'm projecting it to be around 1,400 to 1,600 lbs but that is just getting most of the weights and I don't know total yet. And I agree that tongue weight is a good thing but just wondering how much is too much.

Hey Jake, looks like the build is coming along nicely! Just curious where did you get those T Pop Pins from?

    Thanks,

Agreed but you don't 'build' a bought trailer but it's all good as long as you use it for its purpose.

From Amazon. There are a bunch of different sizes as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KHUKT86/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We got the bars all bent back to place last night and squared up then got the top bars on last night. I'll post a pic later. We are getting another 5 inches of snow here and it's -3degrees for the high here today so it does not look like I will be playing much with it today. :
