    Here goes nothing..
the mess i just picked up yesterday is a 1989 jeep Comanche long bed
    with a 4.0l manual 5 speed.
    image_3_dec3c4d418a3dac91386d976f7befcebe9560b86.jpg

What it has going for it:
    4.0l
    5 speed
    shotty bobbed bed
high pinion dana 30 front axle
    dana 44 rear axle
    4:56 gears
    front and rear eaton lockers
    steel braided brake lines
kinda nice 35" old style mtrs
    6" pos lift.
    118k miles

TO DO LIST BEFORE EJS IN 1 WEEK!!!!!!!!
build a mount for the front track bar
redo the shock mounts, lol these r quite the sight.
replace the inner and outer axle shafts on both sides
investigate the mysterious engine noise, hopefully valve flapper thingys..
figure out the rats nest ball of wires.
    hopefully get the bitch painted
finish the pos bed bob so the bed wont flap in the breeze

    Long term list
maybe new motor depending on the outcome
    flat bed
    get a stereo
try and attempt to make the bitch street legal.

 cool cool. I had one for a little while and an XJ... Those 4.0s like to piss oil everywhere I'd watch out for that. Whats nice is the bed is removable so you can make your own tube bed if you wanted. If you are not familiar with the unibody jeeps make sure go over the "frame" and floor boards with a fine tooth comb looking for cracks and rust. Adding stiffening plates works really well. Good luck with it! Jeep does equeal Just Empty Every Pocket.

it idles like a dream, the engine might need some attention in the next bit.. kinda noisey but i might just drive it till it blows then scout out another 4.0l. shouldnt be to hard to find, but tranny and t case shift perfect. i have drove it on the street yet, pretty tough without a track bar and no front axle shaft i just pulled it off the trailer and stuff like that.

New axle shaft in today, realized the ball joints have about an 1/8th inch of play.. Looks like I'll add those to the list
