    Thanks I think :)

I have been working on a new set of sliders and a bed rack. Beds rack is almost done. Sliders are still a work in progress.

I still frequent all the forums just haven't had any time to do any real work. I did get a new Hobart mig in November and have been messing with it a little.

I have been working on a set of sliders and my bed rack. Once I finish those up, I will try to get this thing bobbed before Jambo hopefully. Swamped with work right now which isn't a bad thing. Just sucks for working on the truck.

Here is the progress on the bed rack

I kept it forward enough for the bob whenever that comes.

I just need to drill a couple more holes and put the floor in the rack/paint.

I have been chomping at the bit ever since this came up. I needed something new to start on since my truck is a better than average wheeler already. Found a local wheeler that is needing a bed for an 86 Ext Cab. He offered me a great price for my bed. I have all next week off so I should make a good bit of progress. Glad I could find someone that wanted my bed before I rasin'd it up too bad.

I knew I was eventually going to do a tube bed and a local opportunity came up that was too good of a deal.

Luckily I can adapt the bed rack to work on my Tacoma :)

Gotta strike when the iron is hot I guess. Can't wait to see it redone in tube. Are you going to keep your spare mounted in the same spot?

    Haven't got that far yet.

Forgot to add I found 2 brand spanking new 37's on CL a while back. Pick both of them up for the price of one. I got these mounted up and replaced my chewed up front tires.

Now I have new rubber all of the way around and 4 spares

Cleaned up the rear of the cab with some rustoleum bed liner.

Also pulled the fuel sender to see if anything was prohibiting its proper function. Nothing. Probably need a new sender.

Pulled the fuel pump assembly and replaced the fuel pump with my spare since the original pump didn't sound healthy. Seems to run better with the new pump.

Just waiting on the bed to show up so I can get it installed this week.

Got started on the rear crossmember. Chopped off 2.5 inches of the frame that won't be needed. Added a piece of 3x3 .25wt square tube and burned it in. Had to add a piece of 1x1 angle to the top to use all 4 holes to mount the lights. Stabbed the lights in to see how well my hole marking and tape skills were. Just need to figure out the wiring now.

Any opinion for the Detroit on the street? Likes/dislikes?

Detroit is fine on the street. Takes some time to get used to chirping tires around corners and a little torque steer between gears.

Wiring will be the final step. I am pretty sure I got it figured out.

Picked up the bed this afternoon. Did a little fitting and trimming and got it welded on. I have to say my little Hobart machine is a workhorse.

Everything went on easily since we cut the mounts off flush with the frame.

Now that the hard part is done, the little tedious chores begin.

I like full bodied rigs, but I dig a nice tube bed. That looks sweet.

What Hobart are you using? I'm thinking about getting a 140 soon to play with.

I got an older Handler 187. It was replaced by the 190. It was brand new and too good of a deal to pass up. If you can get a 220 machine do it.
