This is my build thread for my sons 4WD. Follow as we take this non-basket case sweet ride to a restored even sweeter ride.

Truck info: 94 Toyota Pickup DLX 4WD. 22RE with 5 speed. Stock wheels wrapped in 31" Toyo Open Country tires. No Rust ! :D

I purchased this 94 for my son and we are set for a nice build. First step is to make sure the truck does not fall victim to rust like so many others of the 90's vintage.

Here we pulled the bed off so we could properly apply Rust Bullet

We were so happy to find no rust on the frame.

So we pulled grill and front bumper off.
    prefront_zpsf23068a6_307e6809188767564e33738205ce18cf9fd6a3d9.jpg

We found the first bit of rust at this point.
    rustybeam_zpsf1237402_b382f99e6182c91b5065ac40b817d057683a352d.jpg

So we cleaned that up and coated with Rust Bullet to prevent further problems.

Then we sanded and painted the grill satin black.

Very nice. Now's a good time to change the sealed beam headlights to modern type ones with removable bulbs. They are a PITA to change since you have to remove the grill to change them.

Here's a link to an easy conversion kit:

    http://www.roundeyes.com/Products-Toyota_Headlamps.html

At the very least I would just put new lamps in while the grill is off.

Got a break in the rain and finished the undercoating. I sprayed rubberized undercoating in multiple thick layers on top of the rust bullet protective coat. If this frame ever rusts, then nothing short of galvanizing will stop it.

The bed has almost zero rust on the under side so I am only going to have to clean it and then apply the rust bullet.

New shocks are on. The old collapsed Rancho RS500s were replaced with Bilstein Heavy Duty 4600 series shocks.
