I didn't use the supplied A-pillar mount either, no problems so far.

Any info on the "custom" mount you had made?

Conceptually its the same design but just a bit longer and with a little bit more of a curve. I'll try and remember to take a picture when I get home. I think I still have the old one too so maybe I can take a side by side shot.

I don't see why not. I PMd him two days ago when we first started talking about this so he knows the background. Though I'm not sure if he still has the measurements. We are having a mod day on the 7th so I could take mine over there and see if he can crank out a few more.

    I'd be interested in one.

I'm wondering if you could mount it to the A-pillar with the double sided Scotch "Extreme Mounting Tape".

    No, wouldn't do a thing.

The snorkel is already very strong and many people run without it with no problems. if you hit something with the snorkel strong enough to move/break it, then the tape would have no chance at holding it.

True, if you hit something strong enough to move the entire snorkel you've got bigger problems. I was figuring it might help to "stabilize" the added mass of the pre-filter for everyday driving. Like you say, it's probably not worth worrying about.

My snorkel is an 1 1/2 or so away from the pillar. I feel like the template was a little off

That template is way off. A good starting point... Had to oblong the holes on mine and another that I helped install.

It was OK for me :notsure: plotting something from 2-d to a 3-d surface is very hard to get perfect. Like ^ you said, a little modification to the holes and it's all good!

I'll keep you all informed of the details as I get them. I'm more than likely taking Overland Ak full time with another fab shop where I'll have access to a huge line of products, ARB among them. So stay tuned for good things!

Just spoke with ARB and it looks like we're a few months out yet, first round just went to manufacturing so they're hoping for mid-summer. As I get info I'll post it here until I make a new thread when theyre released.

Are you going to have the title of this thread changed to something like

Airflow America! The only snorkel made FOR OUR TRUCKS!! but they don't respond to customer inquiries so now we have to wait for the 2nd gen ARB ones to be released

You know, that has a nice ring to it. I hate when people bash other companies, and I really tried to keep it to a minimum, but I can't be doing business like that. I was constantly relaying wrong info to customers because it was what was being passed down to me direct from them. No bueno.

Dang that sucks, I really preferred the look of the airflow over ARB... Maybe the new one will look better. If not I know Low Range OffRoad still has airflow in stock...

I would wait for the Safari brand anyway. Airflow's lines look good and fitment is great, but I cannot recommend this pos to anyone with the pillar clip the way it is. It's fucking unprofessional.
