For a cold air intake i'd chose the URD True Cold air intake

i have decided on a cold air intake but that is the last thing i wont to do is f**k up my motor .i not much for the deckplate mod because i wont to keep the stock intake intact.the K&N filter are said to filter out a lot, i live on a dirt road so do u think a open intake would mess up my motor

As long as you clean and oil your K&N filter regularly you shouldn't have any problems.

I actually found a sweet ass deal on craigslist 110 for CAI and throttle body spacer shipped. I suggest keeping your eye on ebay.

I would highly recommend AGAINST the open intake... just seems like a horrible idea, why dirty your engine for a few more hp? I put a K&N cai on my 08 (different gen taco than yours) and I noticed a little bit more "get up" when driving around the city. The dyno sheet in the box said it adds 12-14hp I think. It cost about $350 but as much as I drive, it paid for itself in gas mileage in 1yr (increase of 1mpg and a hell of a lot of driving).

everyone has to keep in mind he has a first gen, trd intakes are rare and i've only seen one in my life. In my opinion go with the AFE Pro Dry cold air intake if you want an intake and not the deck plate mod. AFE and TRD are both very similar. Plus the AFE pro dry doesn't require reoiling the filter which is always a plus. I have the AFE pro dry drop in and didn't notice any difference in performance but I'm sure it's doing something

Recently, as of yesterday, i put a K&N cold air intake in my truck and i would say it makes a big difference (low end) i didnt see much of a difference high end, little bit. It sure does make your truck sound good though!
