With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

Tell them to get real...I hate dealers, they are all criminals looking to screw us at every turn.

There are laws in place that protect 'tuners' from losing warranties because of simple mods like mufflers. I think the laws typically say that the upgrade must operate in a manner in which the stock device operated even if it increases performance. Obviously there's fine print regarding flash tuners and the like, but you get the idea. Beware that although the government is in your corner, it will likely be a long process to get the manufacturer to revalidate your warranty.

I've also heard that dealers track VIN numbers of modified vehicles that come into their shops. If the modifications are too numerous or too invasive, they may flag your VIN and possibly not honor your warranty. Long story short: be careful taking your modified vehicle to the dealer while under warranty, and be sure to return your computer flash to stock if you're using a flash tuner.

x2. That's what I've always heard. The modded part has to be the cause of the issue that you are trying to get warrantied (ie rear suspension issue but you have an AAL on) for them to not approve it.

Yeah, that sounds right. But they take a lot of liberty in deciding what caused it. For example, I've heard horror stories (not necessarily Toyota)where an engine died and the dealer blamed it on dirty oil caused by an aftermarket intake/filter letting in too much dirt. They can and will spin it any way they can to get out of a warranty.
