I just got my new Tacoma TRD sport double cab supercharged! Just thought I would give some interested buyers some more info about it. Also I included a video of some before and after pics and video. First off it made a huge difference in real world driving, there is so much more usable power TRD made this kit for low end power and torque and that is what they achieved! It is great out on the highway also it hardly ever has to shift out of 5th gear now and before the kit it was allways shifting to keep speed in the hills where I live. As far as full throttle speed, it's pretty quick for a small truck! however don't plan on keeping up with any sports cars on the all factory setup. The video will give you a good idea of the before and after speed tho it's a huge gain! The MPG did not drop much if any, despite what alot of other people say. I was getting about 17-18City and 19-21 hwy N/A so far I have gotten about 17city and 20hwy Supercharged. I also had the TRD Cat Back exhuaste installed. I purchased the supercharger and fit kit online but everything was installed by my local toyota dealer so I could get the full warranty which if installed by a dealer is the remainder of the truck. Now if I could just get a cold air intake without voiding the warranty, Does anyone know why it does infact void the warranty even if you get the TRD CAI?

Anyway I hope this is beneficial for somebody I know it would have helped me when I was researching this before I purchased.

Dang it, It's hard to talk myself out of a supercharger when I see videos like this. Congrats on the purchase! I wouldn't waste the money on a CAI, looks like the fit kit came with a K&N style TRD filter.

    thanks guys.

As far as the cold air intake, yes it did come with the reusable TRD drop in but I mainly wanted the CAI to let some more supercharger whine out!! And also for looks, I can't believe they cover up the raised and polished TRD emblem with the dang stock air box  Oh well I'll probably wait till the warranty is up anyway.

just get a cai and if your worried about any warranty issues just swap it out for your stock intake before you take it in takes like 30 mins tops. my dealer installed my s/c with my trd intake in place.

Ya I might just do that, I'll have to start putting some money aside! Does anybody know if that will mess up the tuning at all? That's my best guess why they would not want to warrant them together, is because they do not have a tune for that setup. its probably not a big difference but i am curiouse to know.

I thought Toyota warranties the CAI as long as it's installed by the dealer, but they won't do this if it's coupled with the s/c?

Its got nothing to do with the tune. Its because it would then make it not carb legal in california. When the s/c was released in 07 I was at sema and spoke with a few reps from TRD and thats what they said.

Yeah I ran 2 different CAIs on mine, a AEM for 4k and a AFE boxed for 4k and haven't have a problem with either.

Thought I would throw up a video of the exhaust too.

Here's the caption you can see on the actual you tube page

(2010 TRD Sport tacoma double cab with 8,000mi and about 700mi on TRD Cat back exhaust. Also TRD Supercharged. Just thought I would throw up a quick video of this exhaust for any perspective buyers. Overall I am happy with it but it is definitely not loud by any means (it does meet standard noise decibel limit), but at least now I can hear the motor, the tip looks great and hopefully I gained a few HP!)
