Went to my local exhaust shop today to get pricing on the original flowmaster 40, a tip, and installation? I'm keeping stock pipes. Quoted me $223.

    Is that about average?

Did some searching but came up empty as far as pricing. Any help is appreciated

I think he's including the price of the muffler and tip in his quote, not just installation.

IDK- Depends on the tip and what they are charging you for the muffler. You can probably find the muffler cheaper online, the tip too.
Based on the size of the muffler anywhere from 60-100 bucks, the tip could be anything. if they are charging you more then 30 or 40 for the install...you are getting screwed tho.

Yeah it's parts and labor. I guess its expensive.

Tip was like $30 or so. I didn't get the breakdown for parts and labor. I thought it would have been cheaper since I'm not changing pipes just swapping out the muffler and a tip.

Go online and price out the muffler and the tip, add 40-50 for the install. I suspect you're not getting too good of a deal.

I bought a MagnaFlow for $90 bucks and the local shop installed it for $50 no tip.

So price is in the ballpark. Not too outside?

It'd probably be cheaper picking up a flowmaster 40 off the net and having them install and a tip.

Will be giving some friends a call to see if they got hookups at least on installation

Thanks for all your guys help.

personally, anything more than 120 for a muffler and tip install is expensive
