occasionally my tacoma will hesitate the first time i accelerate after the truck has been sitting over night so i have cleaned the throttle body, put nuw plugs, new air filter and it did it again the other morning. also, i had my O2 sensor crap out about a year ago so that is virturally new so im hoping that it isnt the problem. Now i plan on cleaning the fuel filter, i have never done this before so i was wondering if someone could tell me where the fuel filter is on the 2.7L 2001 prerunner and a "how to"
    thanks

Here is a link on how to change a fuel filter on a 2001 Taco. I would just change the fuel filter instead of cleaning it if I was going to go thru all the trouble of getting it off. I think yours is located on the drivers side of the engine. I have a V-6 Prerunner and it is located on the side of the frame rail just under the drivers seat. Good luck!

Oh man, so glad I found this. I've been having the same issue with my 2001 2.4L so I'll definitely have to switch out the fuel filter first before I start messing with the tranny since I thought that's where the issue was. Thanks!!

Fuel filters are like oil filters, you replace them, not clean them.
