well i need some opinions. it seems like the science is there. has anyone actually tried an HHO cell setup?

It will not work... it never has andit has been tryed for the past 40 year on and off.

Well no better thant just Water injection it self would work...

if this really worked then FORD would make millions off it.

i don't mean to be rude or sidetrack away from the thread's original intention but i don't believe that statement.

i mean the U.S. economy is oil driven and water is the most plentiful resource on the planet. Maybe my tin foil hat is on a little too tight today but maybe FORD is being paid millions not to release this tech into their cars. i mean honestly you could almost collapse the entire world economy if HHO on demand was tuned in properly: assuming it does work

whatever happened to FORD's electric Ranger project ??? taken back from the testers, crushed and almost swept under the rug.

I am a little skeptical, but the science makes total sense. My only question/worry is what it would do to the life expectancy of your engine due to the fact it was made to run off gasoline.

I'm skeptical too. That's how I got into this a few years ago and then dropped it. Engines are designed to run on fuel - be it gasoline, diesel, propane, alcohol or whatever. There is no mystery here. Gasoline does NOT burn well. Maybe on purpose? Hho simply enhances the efficiency of the fuel your burning. Pull a spark plug on a vehicle that has run HHO for a while. Put a lighted scope in the hole and look around. Clean!

Sailing around the world wouldn't work either - but it did. And this is a hell of a lot easier. Just as it's easier to post opinions on something you know nothing about than to actually DO something.

Yes. And I'm doing it again (as time allows). I'll keep the forum posted.

you're posting on a thread that has been dead for 6 years like you are trying to convince them that its a good idea. And then you dug up another post that had been dead for 6 years as well. Why not post this stuff in the thread you started today?

Because I don't know what the hell I'm doing! I thought this was current . I build stuff, not sit on my ass and type.

This HHO stuff that you see on YouTube and scammer websites is just a bunch of crap. Anyone who thinks that the "science makes sense" obviously needs to go back and retake high school physics.

It takes energy to split apart the water molecules, and that energy comes from your alternator, which is powered by the engine. So now your starting at a loss as far as how much energy you've "gained". But you get some of that back when you burn the hydrogen and oxygen because the energy you expended separating the water molecules is equal to the energy when the hydrogen combusts. You only get some of the energy back, because in a perfect world where there's no frictional losses, you'd break even. But there's frictional losses, etc. So in theory, you're simply operating at a loss. In the real word, you're not doing anything because the energy you draw splitting apart the water molecules is so small, and the energy you "gain" by burning the hydrogen is so small in the grand scheme of how much power your motor is making using gas, you will likely not notice a difference in gas mileage in either direction. Not unless you had some massive alternator that could put some serious drag on the engine. These HHO machines simply do not produce enough of the HHO to make any real world difference. Your engine consumes so much air in comparison, that the miniscule amount of HHO gas produced simply does not matter. And if you did have a machine capable of producing a massive amount of HHO, you'd simply be robbing that energy from the alternator (which would put more drag on the engine), so you'd be robbing Peter to pay Paul, but still coming out at a loss due to the fact energy conversions from chemical to mechanical, mechanical to electrical, etc. are simply not 100% efficient.

Long story short, don't waste your time. This stuff is propagated by idiots who have zero understanding of how energy works (on a high school level), or by people looking to rip you off.
